If you’ve kept up with the latest news in plastic and cosmetic surgery, then you’ve probably heard of people going overseas or abroad to have plastic, cosmetic and dental surgery. Why are they doing this you might ask when they can easily get it done right here in the U.S. with a top ranked surgeon? The answer is money. People are going on 1 -3 week cosmetic surgery vacations in droves and saving enough to include the travel, hotel and surgey for a fraction of the price of U.S. surgery.
People are going on plastic surgery vacations to locations like Costa Rica, Belize, Sao Paolo, etc… to get rhinoplasty, dental implants, chin implants, face lifts, liposuction, medium depth chemical peels (like the TCA chemical peel and Obagi Blue Peel), and various other procedures that they’ve always wanted but could never afford. For most people in America, the cosmetic and plastic surgery has always been out of reach, but now with much lower prices from overseas and abroad it is actually affordable. Prices are cheap enough that a full vacation, surgery, recovery, hotel and more is all included at below the cost of just the surgery in the U.S.
Is this safe you might ask. Many U.S. surgeons are saying that it is risky at best and is not a good idea. The real answer is that it is just as safe as in the U.S. Yes there are risks whenever you have surgey (U.S. or not), but you are actually more likely to have a bad surgeon or problem here in the states than overseas. As evidenced on numerous TV specials there are many U.S. surgeons that should have their licenses revoked for everything from fraud to killing patients. Here in the U.S. most doctors are apart of a brotherhood that protects one another and self governs (the medical board). Then there are the fake doctors in Miami and Los Angeles and all over – according to a recent MSNBC expose it was shown that due to the high potential profits in the U.S. there is an alarmingly high number of frauds presenting themselves as doctors and plastic surgeons.

You are probably equal or greater risk here in the states than overseas. Most U.S. doctors will tell you its not safe because they don’t want to lose the business. The doctors are trained in the exact same medical schools as U.S. doctors and are every bit as qualified. Also, many of these packages are scheduled through reputable companies that only handle these cosmetic surgery packages and trips. The savings can be pretty sizable too – a full mouth of dental implants in Belize is around $6,000 and in the U.S. that would easily cost over $20,000. How about a chin implant, face lift, TCA skin peel and breast augmentation for $5,000? That would be unheard of in the U.S., try around $18,000. On top of it you get to get away and have peace and quiet, exotic views and awesome accomodations. Many are now going all inclusive. I do not sell these packages nor am I a compensated endorser, I just believe that this competition will be good as it will force U.S. doctors and hospitals and eventually the entire medical community to lower their prices and stop being so greedy.
If you would like to know more about these respective surgeries, travel and surgery opportunities overseas and abroad or to research a particular plastic or cosmetic surgeon (I highly recommend you research any doctor prior to surgery) look them up on Google. Just enter the keywords plastic surgery abroad, dental implants in Belize, or cosmetic surgery in Costa Rica for starters. Article courtesy of Bestskinpeel.com
